Apple was pretty vague with its "early 2015" release date line for the Apple Watch at the launch event back in September and, ever since, the web has been awash with rumblings of delays and half-baked theories as to when exactly the device formerly-but-never-officially-known-as the iWatch will go on sale.

But for the first time we have an official statement to go on, with Apple's senior vice president of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, saying, "We're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring."

The line came during a video message to Apple retail employees and, if the senior Apple figure speaketh the truth, and why wouldn't she, we could see the Apple Watch going on sale in March or April 2015.
Apple SVP of design, Jony Ive, recently revealed that designing the Apple Watch was a much tougher process than constructing the iPhone.
Speaking at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art last week, Ive said, "Even though Apple Watch does so many things, there are cultural, historical implications and expectations. That's why it's been such a difficult and humbling program."
