The Apple Watch Ultra is being sold on Amazon for £599, with £100 off its RRP.

The Ultra 2 was launched this year but with a 30% extra screen brightness and the gesture control offered by the new S9 chip. But otherwise, it was a small update to Apple’s outdoor and fitness-focused smartwatch.

And the Apple Watch Ultra is a powerful sports watch. We’ve extensively stress tested it with marathon and ultra-marathon running, and found it not only to be accurate in terms of heart rate and GPS accuracy, it’s also got decent battery life.

The Apple Watch Ultra introduced more granular control over battery life, and we’ve used it across ultramarathon races, and in excess of 20 hours of GPS usage.

What’s more, the Apple Watch Ultra also offers an end to battery life anxiety, and we usually get 2-3 days between charges, which makes life so much easier.

At £599, it puts the Apple Watch Ultra below rivals such as the Garmin Fenix 7. Yes, there’s a gulf in battery life and also deep performance insights. But it wins on the ecosystem, apps, mobile payments, safety features, the option to use LTE – and

And that might be enough to swing the decision in its favor.
