A leaked filing has namechecked the Asus VivoWatch 6 ahead of official confirmation from the company, suggesting the smartwatch could be announced soon.
It's been a while since the Taiwanese company released a wearable. The oddly-designed Asus VivoWatch 5 Aero was released exclusively in China at the end of 2022 just a few months after the original VivoWatch 5, but there were no significant launches in 2023.
With the VivoWatch 6 appearing in a Bluetooth SIG filing, however, it appears the drought is coming to an end.
As ever, these filings don't reveal much about the device itself - apart from it supporting Bluetooth 5.0 - but, notably, they're typically only applied for close to an official announcement and launch.

The VivoWatch 6, currently operating under the model number HC-D06, should build on what we saw with the predecessor, meaning we could see a continued focus on health and wellness tracking features.
The VivoWatch 5 provided SpO2 analysis, ECG readings, and even unique features like pulse transit time - the time taken for the arterial pulse pressure wave to travel from the aortic valve to a peripheral site - but, as we say, at present, there are no hints as to what the company will announce for the next-gen model.
We may not have long to wait to find out, though.
Asus has already announced a 14 March event to officially unveil the Zenfone 11 Ultra - and it's possible the VivoWatch 6 could be tacked on as an additional announcement.
If not, we may have to wait until the company turns to the potential Zenfone 10 launch, which is currently rumored to be later this spring. We'll keep an eye on this one in the meantime - check back for more on 14 March.
