Without a doubt, the most hotly anticipated device in the world of wearable tech at the moment is the Moto 360: the Android Wear smartwatch rocking a round display.

Essential reading: Moto 360 review

First revealed back in March at Google I/O, spec details have been pretty thin on the ground for Motorola's debut Android Wear device - that is until now, as Best Buy seem to have spilled plenty of the juicy beans.

Droid Life managed to grab a listings page for the Moto 360 before it was pulled by the retail company, seemingly confirming the rumours that the slick-looking smartwatch packs in an optical heart rate sensor, as per the Samsung Gear Live.

The 1.5-inch screen resolution is stated at 320 x 290, with a ppi count of 205. That would put the 360 behind both the Gear Live (278ppi) and the LG G Watch (240ppi) – although we're not entirely sure there would be a noticeable difference in text crispness.

The Moto 360's price was given by Best Buy as $249.99, which would make it the most expensive Android Wear device to date but, with that awesome looking stainless steel design, we don't think early adopters are likely to be put off.

Another difference between the Moto 360 and its rectangular rivals is the fact it will be powered, according to the leak, by a Texas Instrument processor. Both Korean contenders are packing Qualcomm processing power.

One last notable spec detail is the fact the Moto 360 is said to be waterproof for up to 30 minutes in 1m of water.

The Moto 360 is a fascinating device because not only is it the first smartwatch of note to come in the traditional watch circular face format, it's also a Google powered watch that would have been developed when Moto was owned by the search giant.

After being mildly impressed by the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, it'll be interesting to see if obvious Google influence sets the watch apart in terms of usability.

Our guess, after spending plenty of time with Android Wear, is that it won't. Google's latest platform is a vanilla OS and, in our opinion, still a work in progress.

The Moto 360 is expected to be officially launched on September 4. Wareable will, of course, bring you all the news as it breaks.
