It's not just Nokia getting in on the Samsung Gear S action (HERE maps come pre-loaded on the new smartwatch) as the Korean tech giant has cosied up with Nike to offer the popular Nike+ Running app straight out of the box.

The GPS skills of the Gear S mean that you won't need to team up your smartphone to get in on the Nike+ Running fun as your new smartwatch can do all the tracking on-the-go. There's also a built-in music player within the app and your heart-rate can of course be monitored by the Gear S's optical sensor as well.
As the Gear S also packs 3G connectivity, you can also get messages from the Nike+ community and your social networks while you're pounding the pavement – although, you will need a separate SIM and data contract.

The GPS features of the Gear S certainly set it apart from other smartwatches and we can't wait to get our hands on a review model to see if it's as accurate as a dedicated running watch such as the Garmin Forerunner 15.
