Leaked OnePlus Watch 2 will arrive in February with Wear OS 4

The OnePlus Watch 2 is set to arrive at Mobile World Congress in February, despite rumors previously indicating the company would announce the smartwatch at its January event for the OnePlus 12.

Tipster Max Jambor instead suggests on X/Twitter that OnePlus will wait until the Barcelona tech expo in late February to launch the follow-up to the original OnePlus Watch.

Jambor was behind part of the huge OnePlus Watch 2 leak back in November - one that revealed the drastic redesign of the watch, shown below, and the fact it would run on Wear OS 4 - so we rate this scrap of information as pretty reliable.

This time around, MWC will run from 26-29 February, which means we're possibly only around five weeks away from getting our hands on the next-gen model.

And if it turns out Jambor's information is to be trusted, and the Watch 2 is indeed set to arrive at MWC, we could also still see it officially revealed and confirmed at the company's 23 January event.

Following the incredibly disappointing smartwatch debut from OnePlus, the company has plenty to prove with the Watch 2. 

The potential move away from a proprietary operating system and towards the sturdy Wear OS is a very promising sign, though, and hopefully arrives alongside some much-improved GPS tracking and heart rate monitoring accuracy.
