Polar has launched its new Vantage V3 flagship sports watch, which offers upgraded biosensing smarts and extra health and fitness insights.
The headline new feature is Polar Elixir, which measures cardiovascular activity, the autonomic nervous system, and body temperature — and turns it into digital data and insights.
Polar’s new Gen-4 optical heart rate sensor debuts here, and powers a host of wellness and health metrics, including blood oxygen saturation, skin temperature, as well as ECG. Polar also claims 25% better accuracy in many of the most popular sports, including running and cycling.
The Vantage V3 also sees Polar compete in terms of design and accuracy.
It introduces an AMOLED touchscreen display, It features a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 462ppi. As well as being touchscreen it also features large, glove-friendly buttons, for use during high-intensity workouts, swimming, and endurance sports.

There's dual-frequency GPS on board for better accuracy around tall buildings and tree cover, offline maps, and a new processor delivering the smoothest and swiftest performance in a Polar watch ever.
The Vantage V3 is also something of a battery monster, with Polar promising 61 hours in training mode (GPS and wrist-based heart rate), and up to 47 hours with dual-frequency and wrist-based heart rate. However, that only equates to 8 days as a smartwatch.
The Vantage 3 has over 150 built-in sports profiles and comes with fitness assessment tools.
Running and Cycling Performance tests, make it easy for users to estimate their VO2 max, power, and heart rate zones, as well as advanced recovery tools.
We've been fans of Polar's sleep and recovery metrics, which are some of the best in the business, and they're here again in the form of SleepWise, Nightly Recharge, and Sleep Plus Stages.
Another big addition is offline maps, which puts the Vantage V3 into a unique category of sports watches, with the Fenix/Epix/Forerunner 965 for the company.
The Polar Vantage V3 costs £519/ €599.90 in three colour variants: Night Black, Sky Blue, and Sunrise Apricot, and will ship on 25 October 2023.
