Samsung has released the Galaxy Fit 3, and updated its fitness tracker range for the first time since 2020.
It's not got US/UK pricing yet, but has been confirmed in the Philippines for ₱3,490.00. That would translate to $63/£49 - so it could arrive with a very tasty price tag. Samsung also doesn't charge for extra services, and there's no Premium level.
The Galaxy Fit 3 isn’t too much of a visual departure from the Fit 2, with a tall rectangular screen and AMOLED display, and fits into the same mold as the Huawei Band 8 and Xiaomi Mi Band Pro. It features a 40mm case, so fairly unisex, and weighs just 18.5g (without the strap).
It’s dominated by the 1.6-inch display with a 256x403 resolution, which is 45% wider than the Fit 2. You also get 100 watch faces to choose from
The case is made of aluminum, and comes in black, rose gold and silver colorways.
You get a chunky 13 days battery life, which is a big upgrade on the 6 days of the Charge 6, but around the same as the budget Fitbit Inspire 3.
There’s basic sports tracking with 100 different workout profiles, although there’s no GPS on board, so the tracking is fairly basic.
It will track steps, heart rate and sleep – and the Fit 3 also features snoring detection and will monitor blood oxygen levels (although it’s not a medical device.)
And it’s water resistant to 50m with an IP68 rating – so it’s good for the pool and the shower.
Sleep tracking has been a strong part of the Samsung experience with Galaxy Watch – and the Fit 3 also gains in-depth metrics, including the chronotype sleep animals feature, which can help categorize your unique sleep habits. However, to get these you must pair the device with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Fall Detection and Emergency SOS are also on board.
A key detail, however, is that the Galaxy Fit 3 is only compatible with Android phones.
