A quick check of Keepa.com shows this is an all-time low, and its previous best was $229.
The Galaxy Watch 5 impressed us in testing, offering the best Wear OS 3.5 experience, with solid battery life, responsive interface, and stacks of health and fitness features.
We did find some issues with the accuracy of some of its sensors, but generally, it’s one of the best Wear OS watches out there – bested only the Watch 5 Pro and TicWatch Pro 5.
In our Galaxy Watch 5 review, we wrote:
“The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 remains the best smartwatch for Android users, thanks to the improved Wear OS 3. But the changes from the Galaxy Watch 4 are so small that it's not really worth the upgrade. If you're an Android phone owner looking for a smartwatch this is a great option. If you're looking for a mix of smart and fitness skills, however, there are better options elsewhere.”
Deal or no deal?
DEAL!
The key thing to mention is that we’re not expecting huge changes in the Galaxy Watch 6 either.
As we’ve reported on our rumors piece, it will run Wear OS 4 via OneUI Watch 5, but with only a marginal improvement in screen-to-body ratio and battery size, as well as an expected marginal improvement in processor clock speed, this isn’t set to be a big upgrade.
With all that in mind, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend someone snapping up a cut-price Galaxy Watch 5.
The only thing to consider is whether Amazon will discount the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro before the end of Prime Day. Right now, it hasn’t, and it still costs $329.
