The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 could feature an all-new display design - one reminiscent of the Google Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch Active 2.
That's according to reliable industry tipster Ice Universe, at least, who indicates that Samsung's next smartwatch will return to a curved screen.
This would be in direct contrast to both the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4, which both feature flat displays and quite boxy case designs.
That's all the information we really have to go off at this stage, so it's not clear whether the Galaxy Watch 6 will indeed borrow the same kind of distinct dome shape featured on Google's debut smartwatch or opt to return to the slightly more subtle curve on its 2019 Watch Active 2.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 has returned to the curved glass design. From now on, it is known that the glass is not flat and there is not much other information.

As we've seen on many smartwatches, though, including the Pixel Watch and Apple Watch, a display that curves off at the edges is a really easy way to hide the bezel and have everything appear fuller, so we'd guess that's part of Samsung's motivation for moving away from a flat panel.
And given that the overall design is also pretty overdue for a change, this would also represent an easy way to inject some new personality.
We're expecting Samsung to stick to its usual smartwatch release cycle and deliver the next generation in August, but, naturally, nothing is certain just yet.
Stay tuned for more rumors between now and then, as the picture should become clearer regarding major changes.
