Samsung's highly anticipated smartwatch duo, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, have appeared at the FCC, ahead of an expected July 2023 reveal.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States (spotted by Snoopy Tech) has given its nod of approval to two versions of the Galaxy Watch 6.
The SM-R930 is the 40mm variant of the Galaxy Watch 6, while its counterpart, the SM-R940, boasts a slightly larger 44mm case.

The listing doesn’t cover the expected Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.
While FCC filings can sometimes give us an insight into specs and features, there’s not a great deal to learn from the certification. The Galaxy Watch 6 will come equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, and NFC capabilities.
Moreover, both sizes of the Galaxy Watch 6 will offer wireless charging functionality, accompanied by a wireless charger that goes by the model number ER-OR900.
All the filing really tells us is that the Galaxy Watch 6 is hurtling toward a launch, which could be as early as July.
To recap previous leaks and rumors, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (not the Pro version) is anticipated to resurrect the beloved rotating bezel. We’ve even seen leaked images of the device already (see above).
Both smartwatches are expected to integrate the Exynos W980 processor and run One UI 5 Watch and Wear OS 4.
Samsung smartwatch announcements are notoriously leaky, and there are generally few surprises come launch day. With the big reveal in sight, expect the customary “accidental retailer listings” and all the other fun of the fair in the coming weeks.
