Samsung has rolled out its latest One UI 5 Watch update to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, and with it Wear OS 4.
The Galaxy Watch 4 was launched back in 2021 and was the first Samsung smartwatch to run Wear OS since 2015. And now it’s getting the latest version of Wear OS, which launched with this year’s Galaxy Watch 6.
Wear OS 4 debuted improved sleep tracking and new heart rate zone training metrics.
And now these are rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 4 via an over-the-air update.
It comes a month after the Galaxy Watch 5 got the Wear OS 4 treatment back in August.
The changelog of features is pretty massive, and also includes new Battery tiles, timer controls, album or watch faces, smartphone camera trigger control, and the ability to build workouts. There’s a full changelog here.
It’s great news for any current Watch 4 owners who will now get the same feature set as those who own the latest Samsung smartwatch.
It also poses an interesting conundrum for those looking for smartwatch deals. With the last of Watch 4 stock available at some pretty bargain basement prices, is it a good pick-up now that users are guaranteed all the latest features right away? We’d say it is.
